 Who We Are
Progressive Fitness is Charleston, South
Carolina's premier one-on-one holistic health and performance studio. Our team
of functional exercise practitioners, body workers and nutritional experts are
dedicated to the advancement of designing and implementing individualized
lifestyle, nutrition and exercise programs that will reduce stress and pain,
enhance performance, and improve health.
George Goodheart, father of modern Applied
Kinesiology, solidified the concept of the "triune of health". There are three
major components that make up an equilateral triangle and must be balanced for
optimal health. These three interrelated factors are the structural, the
chemical, and the mental. At Progressive Fitness we focus on the structural
component through proper exercise, the chemical component by providing guidance
on nutrition and supplementation, and the mental by providing a clean, healthy
and supportive environment for your training. We consider ourselves to be
excellent in our comprehensive approach to personal health and performance. In
addition, we work with other health care practitioners in the area, and
exercise the utmost integrity in referrals to these other practitioners.

our mission is to support and encourage our clients and one another on the

 What We Do
Here in the United States, we tend to be
very isolated in our approaches to health and health care. The truth is there
are many factors involved in achieving and maintaining optimal health. While we
believe that physical exercise is a cornerstone to well being, there are many
factors to consider when starting an exercise program. If we focus on physical
exercise to the exclusion of other health care factors, we can eventually
expect a decline in overall health. Our approach is effective because it is
holistic in nature, and takes into consideration all the essential components
of optimal health.
At Progressive Fitness we believe that the
program can only be as good as the assessment. Therefore, we utilize a
comprehensive structural evaluation that considers:
- Posture
- Gait
- Spinal alignment and range of
motion
- Comprehensive range of motion
- Core and stabilizer function
- Functional (essential) movement
patterns
With the information provided during the
hands on assessment, as well as a detailed history form, nutrition and
lifestyle survey, and all pertinent medical information, our holistic exercise
practitioners can design an exercise program to bring the body back into
balance.
